Celebrating THE 3rd SNOWSHOE KAWARTHA WINTER FESTIVAL WHICH INCLUDES THE ONTARIO CUP 5K-10K SNOWSHOE RACE, ELEMENTARY SCHOOL WORLD RECORD EVENT AND much much more … The village of Fenelon Falls is set to host the best one day winter event in 2019.
Get your winter gear ready for Saturday, February 2nd, 2019. A full day of winter fun has sprung up around the excitement of a WINTER FESTIVAL, organized by Snowshoe Kawartha in Fenelon Falls. This race is the first stop in the Ontario Cup Series and the community of Fenelon Falls has most definitely embraced the winter games.
Rooted in the First Nation tradition of a love of the outdoors and of experiencing the cultural and aesthetic beauty of winter, the day will feature lots of fun family recreation and sports programming. Along with the 5k and 10k snowshoe races, there will be a .5k Elementary School World Record snowshoe event, an open-to-all game of crokicurl, fat tire bike event and a snowshoe tour with you family dog and ice safety demonstrations organized to keep everyone safer during the Canadian winter months, these demonstrations will take place on Cameron Lake. And last but by no means least Ice Fishing on Cameron Lake will return with master field guide and sportsman Bruce Earp.
Snowshoe Kawartha is especially proud to introduce the “Spirit of Snowshoeing” trophy, sponsored by the Fenelon Falls Rotary Club, which will be awarded to the volunteer who best represents the spirit of the Snowshoe Kawartha team.
