Snowshoeing is the perfect winter recreational activity, it is a wonderful family event because you can experience the solitude of the great outdoors and the benefits of exercise. Snowshoeing is safer than many winter sports and “If You Can Walk, You Can Snowshoe” it is entirely human powered and much fun in groups.

Fenelon Falls’ event delivers an exhilarating test for participants (rated one of the top courses in Canada by Snowshoe Canada). Course has demanding challenges (The Wall), wilderness appeal (beautiful single track ) and great views (along a lakeside esker) with ample passing lanes and visibility.

Snowshoe Kawartha’s Winter Olympics and 5K / 10K  Snowshoe Race in Fenelon Falls, Ontario is back and better than ever  on February 6th, 2021!

The purpose of Snowshoe Kawartha is to provide outdoor enthusiasts a world-class winter experience in the Kawartha Lakes region. Over the past 5 years Snowshoe Kawartha has enjoyed the support of the City of Kawartha Lakes Economic Development, CKL Councillor Doug Elmslie, and the Kawartha Works Community Co-op.

In 2020 the participation of Special Olympics athletes became a primary focus with training days and our new 1600 meter course.

Our success is entirely thanks to our incredible volunteers and our sponsors. We are pleased to thank Fenelon Falls Home Hardware, the Lions Club of Fenelon Falls, Log Chateau Campground, Rotary Club of Fenelon Falls, Snowshoe Canada, and Young’s Construction. Additionally thanks to Fenelon Falls Real Estate and K-VARS Electric.

Snowshoe Racing is one of the fastest growing winter sports with many races being staged across Canada and internationally each year. Our success in Fenelon Falls and our growth across the region would not be possible without the  Kawartha Lakes Snowmobile Club and the Province of Ontario EMS Services who have helped us  manage the  activities and importantly through their efforts improve the safety of our event.
